As of 2006 more than fifty-eight million copies of her books had been sold worldwide, and her work has been translated into twelve languages. The book was a success, as have been the forty-nine novels that followed. Lindsey wrote her first book, Captive Bride, in 1977 'on a whim'. After her husband's death, Lindsey moved to Maine and did not remarry. The marriage continued, the couple residing in Hawaii and producing three children Alfred, Joseph and Garret, who have made her a grandmother. In 1970, when she was still in school, she married Ralph Bruce Lindsey, becoming a young housewife.

That year, her family moved to Hawaii, likely to honor his wish. Her father always dreamed of retiring to Hawaii, but he died in 1964.

I completed the book, which was only because JL threw some magic to keep me from hurling the book to the floor and picking another nice one. Can it get any stupider ? What father would send his lady daughter to work like a commoner ? ( Emphasis again on lady). Then Jamie comes upon Sheena once again because apparently, Sheena’s father sent her away to live like a beggar (or a nun ) with her Aunt. Niall, Sheena’s brother, helps him escape.

So anyway, Jamie is imprisoned in sheena’s place while raiding against her clan. He doesn’t know she is a lady and assumes she is a beggar. She looked like a vision and he is mesmerised. And oh the plot was freaking stupid …wait, I guess I’m remembering the story. (Like in this one, kidnap the freaking girl ! ).

Do the even compare ? Okay, I usually like JL ‘s even though most of her books go against ethics. I didn’t feel anything for Jamie the way I would have for one of Julie Garwood’s highland lairds. But this book ruined the feelings I had for Scotland in a spectacular way. I would die any day for a highland laird or a viking jarl. Then some more fillers (Yeah, raiding blah blah blah ) and then h and H have a HEA. but let me recall, so there’s an arrogant jerk of a hero. The plot is really forgettable and it doesn’t help that I read it sometime ago.
